Standard Technology Industrial Institute for Household Electric Appliance and Light Industry, as the secretariat of SAC/TC46 (National Technical Committee 46 on Household and Similar Purpose Electric Appliances and of Standardization Administration of China), is responsible for the standardization management the safety, performance, installation and maintenance of household and similar electrical appliances in China. It is also acting as the execution structure for the business of the National Mirror Committee of IEC/TC61 and IEC/TC59. Meanwhile, the institute is also in charge of the business management of light industry standardization. For the field of household and similar electrical appliances, the following aspects are included:

Responsible for the management for national and industrial standards of household and similar electrical appliances, including:

• Collection and submission for approval of national and industrial standard plans

• Organization and management of standard development and revision

• Standard publicizing and implementation

• Training about standardization

• Standardization consultation and other routine work.

• Docking with international standardization organizations
