China Household Electric Appliance Research Institute（hereinafter called CHEARI）was established in 1964.CHEARI is approved by State Commission Office of Public Sectors Reform(SCOPSR)，is affiliated by State-owned Assets upervision and Administration Commission of the State Council(SASAC).It has owned the following state-level research center: National Household Electric Appliance Quality Inspection and Testing Center，National Smart Home Quality Inspection and Testing Center，National Household Electric Appliance Metering Station，National Household Appliance Industry Information Center and so on.
There are 505 employees, 241 of which have intermediate or senior qulification lever of speciality and technology，135 with master's and doctor's degrees，and 13 State Council Special Allowance experts.
It has won 17 national awards, like “State Science and Technology Advancement Award” and 111 provincial，ministerial-level, industry association awards.
