Energy Star is a government programme run by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the US Department of Energy (DOE), which focuses on energy efficiency in consumer electronics. The aim is to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. It covers more than 30 kinds of products such as household appliances, office equipment, lighting and motors.
