Carbon Information Certification

China is a rising superpower in the manufacturing and consumption of household appliances. The low-carbon development of household appliances is an important component of achieving "dual carbon" goals. The entire household appliance industry has always been very concerned about energy conservation and emissions reduction. Various household appliance companies and research institutions have actively participated in this work.

In the evaluation of carbon information certification, the total greenhouse gas emissions generated during the product lifecycle are checked. By using the basic technical tools of life cycle assessment (LCA), green design, and green manufacturing, quantifiable carbon footprint information can be obtained for the entire or partial lifecycle, including the extraction of raw materials, manufacturing, transportation, distribution, use, and final disposal stages. According to the systematic regulations for the lifecycle evaluation of household appliances products in T/CECA-G 0096-2021 T/CAS 509-2021 "Guidelines for the Lifecycle Assessment of Household Appliances," which was developed and led by our company, a basis for conducting carbon footprint evaluations of household appliances products has been established.

As the international market's awareness of the carbon footprint of electrical products continues to increase, carbon information certification helps the market understand the greenhouse gas emissions generated during the entire lifecycle of a product and encourages consumers to choose low-carbon electrical products. It also conveys the concept and information of energy conservation, emissions reduction, and green consumption to society. The evaluation results can also help product manufacturers provide targeted carbon reduction plans, predict the impact of the proposed reduction measures, and achieve the selection and continuous improvement of different proposed reduction measures.

The carbon information certification project is a certification project developed jointly by our company and the China National Institute of Standardization. Most of the project development members are members of the National Environmental Management Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC 207). In addition to certificates, the output of the certification results also includes the carbon footprint of the evaluated product and the amount of carbon reduction compared to the industry average. Due to the standardization of methods and basic data, this certification project has also been partially recognized by other international organizations, including the Swedish Environmental Research Institute (IVL) and the DNV.
